PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Take ownership of projects during all phases in the project lifecycle, from requirements analysis to post-implementation support, while actively managing project activities, resources, and dependencies among internal/external services providers and business units
- Lead the development team for application implementation and delivery
- Identify project milestones, activities, and dependencies. Prepare project plans and obtain business agreements
- Monitor and report project progress and ensure that key stakeholders are informed of project status, actions and plan
- Identify, document, and communicate project risks, issues and any variance to business and IT management. Apply necessary measures to address these issues and ensure that projects are delivered within the agreed budgets, timeframes, specifications, and follow relevant IT standards
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- University graduate or equivalent in the field of IT or related disciplines
- Minimum seven years of work experience in the financial industry, of which 3-4 years are gained in system development, implementation, business process re-engineering, system integration or operation support/design
- Proven track record in project managing and implementing IT systems in large scale organizations
- Solid project management skills in initiation, analysis, design, test and transition; PMP certification would be an advantage
- Experience in the areas of private banking would be an added advantage
- Good understanding of IT systems functioning in general; Exposure to technologies such as Java, MySQL and open sources would be an advantage
- Able to effectively monitor and control project risk, issues and health
- Strong communications skills in both written and verbal in English; Able to effectively interact with different groups of stakeholders
